If you or a family member you care for needs a mobility device, HouseCalls Physiotherapy can provide the assessment and help you complete an Assistive Devices Program (ADP) application to get funding from the Ministry of Health.  We have over 20 years of experience working with patients who require assistive devices for their acute or everyday mobility needs. We have an ongoing working relationship with local equipment vendors who will provide the prescribed device for trial or purchase.  We are a registered authorizer with ADP for walking aids and wheelchairs, including scooters, power wheelchairs, paediatric standers, strollers, rollator walkers, forearm crutches etc.  We have experience working with both paediatric and geriatric clients, as well as clients with developmental disabilities who require complex custom seating. We have worked as part of seating clinic teams in school, long-term care and rehabilitation settings.    Assessment visits can be arranged wherever is most suitable – including home, school, long-term care home, retirement home or even at your chosen equipment vendor’s store if that is most convenient.  A visit to the location where the device will most often be used is recommended.
